Our dream of owning a motorcycle ended when we wrapped a 50cc scooter round a lamppost. Our Silver Machine was no more, while the lamppost barely shrugged.

Russian illustrator Anton Gorbunov seemingly has his bike dreams still intact. His Legendary Motorcycles series pays special attention to the design and story of some excellent vintage vehicles.

"I love watching the evolution of techniques and technologies, and monitor the progress of engineering and design ideas," he writes on his Behance page. "Beyond the simple goal - to paint a nice illustrations, I pursued another important purpose - to create interest around and pay attention to these models of motorcycles."

Check out Gorbunov's series below, complete with a gif showing the development of each piece.
