Bat Invades TV News Studio

Earthquakes, teleprompter jokes and humiliation on a national scale? Sometimes you just have to hand it to US newscasters, those bastions of face-to-camera professionalism who will never flee from the studio, no matter the danger.

The latest batch of news anchors to see their limits tested come from Tennessee - specifically Good Morning Tennessee - where presenters Bo Williams, Tearsa Smith and meteorologist Julya Johnson had a surprise guest of the bat variety drop in unannounced.

Recklessly flying around the studio as only a bat could at 5.45am, the reactions of the perma-grinned trio remaining bolted to their desks are priceless. While the bat was later caught and released in a wooded area, it was a valiant five minute of fame.
