While there are few things that pets genuinely love (food, killing things), there are plenty that they abhor.

Alongside small children and costumes lies the humiliating process of having a picture taken.

Being forced to stay still with no treat offered up as a reward is a befuddling low-point for any self-respecting pet and, to commemorate this, there's a brand new collection of awkward photos from those people what did all those other awkward photo books.

If you recognise anyone on these images please cut them from your life immediately. Excluding the poor animals.

Awkward Family Pet Photos is available to buy in Hardback now, priced £12.99 www.awkwardfamilypetphotos.com
