Amazing UK flights data visualisation

We had no idea just how busy the sky is. Not with dog-shaped clouds or flocks of pigeons, but with an altogether conspicuous number of planes.

This data visualisation from air traffic control group NATS shows the flights scurrying about the UK and Europe over a 24-hour period. London is a blinding glow of activity, highlighting just how many giant metal bodies air traffic groups have to keep tabs on during the course of a day.

How they suppress the urge to make the planes fly in rude-word-forming patterns is beyond us.
