When all's said and done, it's a pretty impressive audio library: some of the most famous phrases ever uttered by humanity, and the sounds of the most impressive machines ever built - and now it's available to listen to on Soundcloud.

NASA has released a stunning collection of 60 audio clips from across the whole history of its space exploration program, including the famous speeches by John F. Kennedy, which promised a man on the moon before the end of the 60s, and clips of the Apollo 11 mission that delivered on it.

There's also plenty of great noises of the rockets and shuttles in action, together with sounds from the solar system and beyond.

Essentially, it's a space enthusiast's dream.

We've picked our favourite six below; for the full set, head on over to the NASA Soundcloud page.
