Student Hates Paying Expensive Rent So Decides To Live On A Train…. Saves A Disappointing £50

We all get a little bit annoyed about our ridiculously overpriced rent from time to time - but how far would you actually be willing to go if it meant saving a few pennies.

Student Leonie Muller aged 23 from Stuttgart, Germany, decided that renting was becoming such a waste of finance and emotional stress that she would take up full time residence on a train.

Opting to splash her cash on a monthly £240 season ticket to travel on any train, she washes in the trains bathrooms and sleeps in the carriages. All of her clothes, laptop and textbooks remain with her at all time, like a train surfing nomad. Or the most glamorous hobo you've ever seen.

Which is all good and well but when you take it account that her original rent was £290, and that she’s only now saving £50, it seems a little bit extreme.

But, each to their own.

Speaking to The Washington Post she said: “I really feel at home on trains, and can visit so many more friends and cities. It’s like being on vacation all the time.”

Adding that the living arrangement also allows her extra time to see her boyfriend who lives in Cologne:  “Normally, we would have to have a long-distance relationship, but living on a train enables me to see him all the time.”

Which is serious commitment.
