Wiggo is UK's most influential man
09 October 2012

The £4000 in unmarked, non-sequential bills we slipped AskMen.com for the third year running still didn't secure us a place in their annual Most Influential list.

Top spot this year went to cycling's Bradley Wiggins. Not only did he become the first ever British man to win the Tour de France in 109 years, he also managed to bag yet another gold medal at the Olympics.

Over 10,000 men aged 18-40 were asked to choose the chap they felt was the most influential over the last 12 months, taking into account their achievements, profile and status.

Unsurprisingly, the list of 49 men featured many of the UK's sporting heroes such as Andy Murray, Mo Farah and Sir Chris Hoy, with Wiggins beating Apple guru Sir Jonathan Ive to the top spot.

The PM went up 16 places to spot 33 but was thrashed by Boris who came in at a respectable 8th (the zip line bagged him that one). This year's shock entry was not one man but five of them in the form of boy band One Direction.
