What they are and what's happening

Male grooming isn't a term you would have heard much 20 years ago, but skin and hair care for men is now very big business, with a lot of gents spending more time in front of the mirror than the women in their lives. It's far removed from the days when a dollop of Brylcreem, some Pears soap and a horsehair shaving brush sufficed for the more hirsute half of the population.

To recognise this seismic change in attitude and importance, ShortList magzine is proud to announce the inaugral ShortList Men's Grooming Awards. These awards - judged by an expert panel including celebrity hairdresser James Brown and ShortList Style Director Adrian Clark - aim to showcase and  recognise the best male grooming products around, as well as providing the public with a guide to what they should be using to keep themselves looking their very best.

The awards have been voted for and the winners will be announced on January 15th 2009.
