"Waka-waka-waka-waka-waka-waka... can I take your order" is how we imagine the waiters at Chicago's forthcoming Pac-Man-themed restaurant will serve you. That, or they'll be dressed as ghosts. Hopefully.
NAMCO Entertainment is aiming to expand its considerable Pac-Man empire with the opening of a 40,000 square foot "dining and entertainment concept" in Illinois, Chicago. Level 257, named after the final "kill screen" of the original arcade game, will feature a 180 seat themed restaurant, bars and lounges with fire pits, a sports bar, 16 bowling lanes and - most importantly - a Lost & Found arcade gallery, featuring classic and modern Pac-Man games.
"Level 257 seeks to explore PAC-MAN’s impact upon our society and pop culture," explains the destination's Tumblr site, "reminding us all of the importance of play in our lives, while facilitating our desire to relive those times when beating the next level was the most important thing in our world."
Set to open in early 2015, the restaurant (which is now hiring) is requesting suggestions for Pac-Man themed dishes. So long as all the circular dishes have a single slice removed to echo the titular character, we'll eat anything they serve.
