Hellboy Is Getting His Own Beer

With little sign of a third Hellboy film reaching our screens any time soon, at least fans can now drown their sorrows with a beer made in tribute of the cult hero.

No stranger to a brewskie himself, of course, the comic book character turns 21 this year - meaning, yes, he's now legally allowed to drink, and as such Dark Horse Comics and Rogue Ales have joined forces to produce The Right Hand Of Doom, a limited edition red ale celebrating two decades of the most sardonic beast.

Better yet, the packaging even features all new artwork from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, who says of the venture: “When Dark Horse Comics published the first Hellboy story 21 years ago, I never imagine there’d be a Hellboy beer. But I really can’t imagine a better time for Rogue to introduce the Right Hand of Doom beer. If Hellboy was real I guess he’d finally be able to buy me a beer.”

Too right, Mike. We’d love to see it – or at the very least Ron Perlman donning the synthetic horns once more for a small series of internet beer advertisements directed by Guillermo Del Toro.

Now we just wait for the horn-shaped bottle openers.
