Food Trends Infographic

Contrary to the carnivorous sentiments of Homer Simpson, it turns out that you do win friends with salad. Or at least if a new food trends infographic is to be believed, you do.

Comprising data taken from a recent global survey into food habits, designer Carlos Monteiro has whipped up the charming graphic below to highlight exactly what percentage of countries support improved health labelling on food items along with their attitudes to trying new dishes.

But it's the health consciousness statistics which hit home the most. For instance, a whopping 67 per cent of Mexicans will consider healthy foods the most important, with Brazil, Argentina and Poland not too far that figure themselves. Less surprisingly, the US lags well behind on 35 per cent.

In their defence, the invention of the Cronut was both a blessing and a curse.
