Candy Hearts Made From Actual Hearts

In the market for an original Valentine’s Day gift but wary of heart-shaped cliché? Well how about giving a real heart?
 
We’re not asking you to donate your own. We’re simply letting you know that there now exists a recipe for making some candied treats out of cow hearts. It certainly beats a box of Dairy Milk bought at the petrol station.
 
It's the latest bizarre culinary creation from PenfoldPlant, the man who blessed (or cursed) us with haggis lollipops recently.
 
First up you’ll need to procure yourself an Ox heart, or the closest substitute you can get at a butcher’s. Secondly, you’ll need to source your toppings depending on the flavour you choose from a) candied ginger, dark chocolate, coffee, and b) paprika, chili and white chocolate.
 
Though you're also going to have to cook a ginger jerky marinade, which is available along with the rest of the recipe on the website where, helpfully, you can also learn how the hell to chop up a giant cow heart. Those things are huge.

Don’t pile the sugar on too thick, mind, you don't want to give anyone a heart attack.
