Kauai is the fourth largest island in the Hawaiian archipelago. It was the first Hawaiian island discovered by Captain James Cook when he reached its paradise shores in 1778. It is a place of astonishing natural beauty, having been used as a location for myriad films, including Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Sadly, all that pales into insignificance in the slinky shadow of Jarah-Evelyn Makalapua Mariano, now officially the island’s most fabulously beautiful attribute.
Kauai-born Jarah has modelled for the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions and a bunch of times for Victoria’s Secret, Abercrombie, Armani, Quicksilver and Levi’s. She also has a degree in Speech Communications with a Media Studies Concentration. Which is nice.
