Universal back Stephen King’s Gramma

StephenKing Gamma.jpg

Based on past experience, big screen adaptations of Stephen King's works of fiction are nearly always a good thing.

So, as fantasy-horror film Mercy, based on King's short story Gamma, is set to be directed by Peter Cornwell, who was behind the terrifying The Haunting in Connecticut, it could potentially be a brilliant adaptation.

Universal Pictures and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions are also on board. And seeing as Blum is the guy who has both Paranormal 4 and Sinister currently scaring the pants off cinema goers, we're hoping for greatness.

British actress Frances O’Connor, who recently appeared in The Hunter, will play the mother with two young sons, who discover their ill grandmother, Mercy, is a witch.
