Tom Hardy loves Come Dine With Me

After proving his hard man credentials in Bronson, Warrior and, most recently, The Dark Knight Rises, you'd be forgiven for expecting the rather impsoing Tom Hardy to be a bit scary in real life.

But the 34-year-old British actor has proved that he's nothing like his on-screen persona. In an interview with Total Film, he revealed a not-so-secret passion for a rather unlikely, yet also rather brilliant, TV show.

When asked about the inspiration for his tough character in the violent new prohibition thriller Lawless, he confessed that he went straight to the small screen.

"I watch Come Dine With Me!" Hardy shared. “I really do like Come Dine With Me. It’s great people-watching. I’ll steal characters from Come Dine With Me. Because they’re real people. I take something from everybody."

So there you have it. Maybe Bane was secretly based on a particularly tyrannical dinner party host...
