This Messed-Up Alternative Friends Ending Will Turn Your World Upside Down

Remember Friends? You know, the hit generation-defining sitcom that taught us all how to really love coffee and somehow seeped into our pores so much that you can quote it in your sleep?

Remember how it ended all nicey nice nice with the gang heading off to the ol’Central Perk to get some caffeinated fun-thrills? Well, we’re about to turn your entire world upside down. Could we be any more dramatic?

According to fan Gareth Stranks, the ending should have been a hell of a lot darker altogether.

In Stranks' version the show’s finale would have revealed that all ten seasons of the show were in fact nothing more than the drug addled fantasies of a homeless Phoebe and her “fevered imagination”.

In his own words, this is what friends was really about:

Somehow we don’t think it would have been quite as successful if the episode was called: ‘The One Were Phoebe Is Addicted To Meth Forever And Imagines Things’.
