The Twitter reaction to the new series of Top Gear was - erm - mixed

Top Gear is back. 

Written off by Clarksonites and scrutinised by tabloids, the reaction to the newly revamped series was always going to be mixed.

Although as new new hosts Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and a few special guests ushered in the new era earlier this evening, even we were taken aback as to how varied the social media chatter was.
