The Top Five SNL 40 Moments

“Live from New York, it’s Sunday Night!”
Indeed, last night, in the company of cast members past and present, long -running TV comedy sketch series Saturday Night Live celebrated 40 years at the top.
And with returning alumnus including such giants as Bill Murray, we've sifted through the best skits and listed our top five.

Bill Murray Lounge Sings ‘The Love Theme’ from Jaws

Yes, you know, the Love Theme from Jaws, now bellowed out by Murray’s aptly named lounge singer Nick Ocean. Nothing says Valentine’s Weekend romance quite like a man-eating shark.

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon rap about the history of SNL

Still unsure what the hell this TV show is about? Or how it’s managed to reach the grand old age of 40? Allow JT and JF’s introduction to set the tone for the celebrations.

Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler’s power rock ode to breaking character

Break the fourth wall? They smash it, treating the audiences to some first class power-rock and one excellent key change.

Wayne’s World Reunion

They’re still partying, it’s still excellent, and they’ve not aged a bit. Okay that last one's a lie.

Adam Sandler’s Opera Man

“No one’s getting paid-oh, but Betty White’s here so at least we’re all getting laid-oh.” With lyrics like that we’re not sure why we enjoyed Sandler’s exceptionally terrible soprano, but we did. Unashamedly so.
