New trailer for BBC's Sherlock Special

For those of you who haven't been swept away by the grand adventures of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, the following trailer will appear little more than a 90 second self-referential love in of the grandest proportions.

For the rest of us? It's more than we could have hoped for.

Following the release of yesterday's tash-filled teaser image, the BBC has pulled back the curtain an inch further on its Sherlock Special episode, set to arrive this Christmas.

Drawing on the Dickensian setting of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original novels, the one-off episode is ripe with deerstalkers, pipes and familiar levels of razor-sharp wit.

Winter never felt so far away.
