Johnny Depp has been called many things in his time, but an elephant? Hey, stop that puerile sniggering at the back. Come on, grow up.

Well, let us be the first to bestow such a (non-rude) description on Mr Depp. Because like the wily old elephant, the ageless star never forgets.

How do we know? Just watch him carefully take a can of whoop ass out on Ricky Gervais in this clip from the forthcoming – and bound-to-be-ace – Life’s Too Short.

The new show starts on BBC2 on November 10th.
