Gripping Hannibal season 2 trailer

The forecast for February is bleak, grim and with a scattering of murders if the new trailer for Hannibal is anything to go by.

The second season of Hannibal looks to set plough the same grizzly path as its first outing. Based on the characters of Thomas Harris' Red Dragon, Hugh Dancy returns as expert criminal profiler Will Graham, delving into the shady minds serial killers.

Mads Mikkelsen continues as the brilliantly sinister Dr Hannibal Lecter - and by the look of the trailer, things don't go too well when he asks Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) round for dinner. We imagine he brought red wine for the main of fish...

Hannibal airs in the US on 28 February, UK release date yet to be announced
