First proper look at ITV's Jekyll & Hyde

Charlie Higson has a strange backstory. 

Once the lead singer of a punk band, his comedy prowess wasn't discovered until a chance meeting with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie - for whom he was working as a decorator.

You probably know him best for the twisted giggles he wrote for The Fast Show - but now Higson has turned his pen to a television adaptation of a more classical subject.

Jekyll And Hyde is set to air on ITV this autumn, a ten-part series that sees Tom Bateman star as a Robert Louis Stevenson's warped doctor, and Richard E Grant the head of a shady organisation.

If Penny Dreadful were to spend the night with Doctor Who, it might just produce a show a little like this...
