Evil Dead TV Series On The Way

For some time now, the buzz around an Evil Dead TV spin-off has been as deafening as the chainsaw standing in for Ash’s arm.
And now Deadline (who better?) has confirmed that it's official: The Evil Dead is getting a 10 episode series on the small screen, with long-time star Bruce Campbell reprising his iconic role and re-teaming with the franchise's director Sam Rami.
The series, which will air on Starz with a premiere at some point in 2015, picks up with Ash three decades after avoiding responsibility and maturity from the horrors of the past, but when a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, the chaninsaw-limbed lothario must face his demons once more.
Raimi will direct the first episode of Ash Vs Evil Dead (co-written with his brother Ivan), and said of the news: “Evil Dead has always been a blast,” Raimi said. “Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”
We believe it.
