The Devil's Advocate Heading To TV

Because we all need another legal TV drama, 1997's sleeper hit The Devil's Advocate is heading to the small screen.

The film tells the story of lawyer Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) who is recruited by one of the leading law firms in the world – only to find out that his boss John Milton (Al Pacino) is the incarnation of the devil himself. Which is so typical...

Based on the novel of the same name by Andrew Neiderman, the show is being developed by NBC. Produced by John Wells (The West Wing, ER, Southland) and Arnold Kopelson (Se7en), Matt Venne is attached the pen the pilot script.

Casting has yet to be announced but neither Pacino nor Reeves are expected to return. The latter is coincidentally heading to television to produce and star in new action series Rain.

With the show only in the pilot stage, it is currently unknown as to whether the US channel will pick up the show as a full series. With their other movie-to-tv show Hannibal often receiving middling ratings, we reckon they'll be cautious.
