Bryan Cranston wants to play Walter White again in Better Call Saul

Can you believe it's been two and half years since Breaking Bad finished?

And, while Better Call Saul, the prequel series focusing on lawyer Jimmy McGill, has proved to be a more than adequate new addition to the canon of stories and happenings in Albuquerque, New Mexico, we all know that Walter White is still the king character of the lot of them.

We've already seen some familiar faces in the series which, like Breaking Bad, was created and is executive produced by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould - which, for spoiler purposes, we won't reveal here - but, with a third season confirmed for the show, wouldn't it be fantastic to see Walter again, if only for a fleeting moment?

Fortunately, if the show decides that it wants a cameo, its star has confirmed that he'd definitely be up for it.

Speaking to Konbini after the premiere of his recent film Trumbo, Bryan Cranston said: "I would like to be part of that. Vince Gilligan and Breaking Bad changed my life. They presented me with opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I am very grateful for that. So yes, if Vince Gilligan called me today and told me, ‘I want you to be in Better Call Saul’, I would say yes before he could finish asking me! It hasn’t happened yet though. We’ll just have to see how things go. I love this series. And I’m really lucky with how great it all went for me.”

He also revealed how he is watching the show as a 'real fan', saying: "I really like Better Call Saul. It’s an atmosphere I know well: the city of Albuquerque, its suburb, the people there. It’s something I’m very familiar with, but at the same time the story is very different. It’s no longer Walter White who’s the main focus, but Jimmy McGill. So I watch the show with a new perspective. When I meet Vince Gilligan, I beg him not to tell me anything! I want to experience the series as a true fan and not as an ‘insider’. I like it that way.”

Vince: the ball (or the pizza) is in your court.
