Fans offer support for Ant from 'Ant and Dec' as he enters rehab for drink and drug addiction
19 June 2017

Of all the current UK TV personalities presently on our screens, there’s a few you might not be too surprised to hear they were heading to rehab. James Argent? Calum Best? Timmy Mallett? Maybe someone from Geordie Shore

But Ant?

Ant, from off of out of Ant and Dec? PJ from off of out of PJ and Duncan? Evergreen, wholesome, lovely Ant from so many family-friendly telly shows? Yep, Ant is going to rehab for drink and drug addiction. Who knew?

Ant has unfortunately become addicted to painkillers and booze following a botched knee operation. Sources are saying that in the last two months he’s become a virtual recluse, not even leaving the house to go to the shops – he’d even kept his problems hidden from his wife and bessie mate, Dec. Thankfully he’ll now be able to get the help he needs, and will enter rehab without any contact with the outside world for two months.

Ant told The Sun on Sunday:

“I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry.

“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.

“I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”

Twitter has his back, too, with fans tweeting their support by the truckload:

And Dec publicly revealed his support for his mate:

Either way, I for one hope he's OK, because he's a nice bloke and I've watched him on telly since his Byker Grove days.

Good luck Ant.
