Diver Back-Flops to Zero Points

You train your whole life for something, and then you're undone by one slip. Just ask Steven Gerrard how that feels.

Another sportsperson who will now empathise with Liverpool's captain is the Australian diver Grant Nel, who was left red-faced - and red-backed - after slipping on the springboard and landing back first in the men's 3m preliminary round at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

It was a 3.8 difficulty dive, but it all went wrong, and he entered the water with all the grace of a falling buffalo. The judges awarded it zero points, and Nel goes back to Australia empty-handed.
