The ShortListen: Over Sands (no. 206)

Who? Over Sands

What’s the story? Yesterday, Icelandic geniuses Sigur Rós announced the first of only two UK shows next year (at the Citadel Festival in July), which reminded us of their consistent brilliance. Appropriately enough, we then came across this track, by new London duo Over Sands who have clearly been influenced by their sense of space and emotion. This track, the fourth to be revealed from their debut EP, starts with a Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do-esque intro, before settling into a gloriously swooning four and a half minutes of woozy synths, guitar work and almost wordless vocals. Use this to get away from it all - and if you're in London tonight, head down to their EP launch gig at the Sebright Arms.

For fans of: Sigur Rós, Antlers, School of Seven Bells

In three words: Blissful dreamy psychedelia
