The ShortListen: MØ (no. 328)

What’s the story? Danish star MØ - full name Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen - hasn't put a foot wrong since storming to worldwide attention by taking the vocals on Major Lazer's enormohit Lean On. Since then, she's released the brilliant Kamikaze and now this track, Final Song, which goes for more of a electro dancehall feel. It's unashamedly pop, but there's enough wonkiness to keep it interesting - and above that, MØ has such a distinctive vocal delivery that she'd claim any song as her own. Mind you, the big question is, should Final Song be the final song at a club night instead of (I've Had) The Time of My Life? It's good, but it's not that good, sorry MØ.

For fans of: Major Lazer, Say Lou Lou

In three words: Wonky electro pop
