The ShortListen: Loyal (no. 214)

What’s the story? Christmas party season is upon us, and for every euphoric, rip-roaring massive night out you're going to enjoy then, obeying Newton's Third Law, there's going to be an equal number of devastating post-party comedowns to navigate. But, luckily, we have just the soundtrack for you. London trio LOYAL are signed to Good Years, home to Banks and Francis & The Lights, and Blue & The Green is their debut single. It's a gorgeous, shimmering ride which gently builds, with soft vocals and slinky guitar work throughout, before a redemptive final section. It's halfway between a depressed Years and Years and Weak Become Heroes by The Streets and it'll comfort you in times of need. Look out for more from these guys next year.

For fans of: Years and Years, The Streets

In three words: Melancholic club vibes
