The ShortListen: EDGES (no. 339)

Who? EDGES

What’s the story? When you think of country music, probably the last place you'd think of is Berlin. But the genre may well have a promising new outpost in Germany thanks to this debut track from newcomer Edges, aka singer songwriter Sami Simon. Walk Away is a glorious slice of unhurried, melacholic songwriting, with Simon's fragile vocals working nicely alongside some truly beautiful slide guitar. If you like Ryan Adams' more downbeat moments, then this will be right up your straße.

For fans of: Kacey Musgraves, Ryan Adams

In three words: Melancholic alt country
