The ShortListen: Calvin Harris & Dizzee Rascal (no. 336)

Who? Calvin Harris & Dizzee Rascal

What’s the story? We still remember hearing Dance Wiv Me for the first time. Dizzee was, of course, a hugely respected artist but hadn't really made the break through to the mainstream - in fact, he'd just been dropped from his label, XL. Calvin had released his debut album I Created Disco and had had a couple of hits, but was by no means big league. But that song was a 100 per cent, certified banger to our ears - and so it proved, hitting number 1 and becoming 2008's 12th biggest-selling single. Now, they team up once again and the magic is back. It's a completely different track - a mishmash of dancehall, hip hop, electro and trap, bubbling away while Dizzee references Neymar and hitting the crossbar before a giant noisy hook comes in for the chorus. Why can't these two just cut to the chase and make an album together?

For fans of: Major Lazer, Rihanna

In three words: Wonky electro banger
