Watch Liam Gallagher perform Noel's 'Don't Look Back in Anger' for first time ever

Oasis fans might still be waiting for a reunion, and it feels like they’ll be waiting quite a while, but those watching Liam Gallagher at Glastonbury got a reminder of what they’ve been missing these last few years.

Liam was the main vocalist for the bulk of the band’s Britpop-era heyday – brother Noel was on vocals for just a handful of tracks across Definitely Maybe, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now, but there was one notable exception which Liam stayed away from… until now.

It might have taken more than 20 years, but we’ve finally heard a Liam Gallagher performance of ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, dedicating his Glastonbury rendition of the track to the victims of attacks in Manchester and London, as well as to those killed in the Grenfell Tower fire.

It’s one of those things that, were you to show it to someone without reminding them of the context, would still seem jarring for reasons they can’t quite put their finger on.

It’s like seeing Homer Simpson in a blue shirt and white trousers, or Paul Gascoigne in an Arsenal kit.

It’s like catching a glimpse of Eminem with a beard, or Daniel Radcliffe with a shaved head. You know it’s real, but it takes you a moment or two to figure out what’s different.

Anyway, here it is – the moment you’ve all been waiting for since 1995, even if you didn’t know it.

The brothers’ feud has ramped up even further over the past few weeks. After performing alone (and a little bit with Chris Martin) at the One Love Manchester charity event in May, Liam labelled Noel a “sad fuck” for not reuniting Oasis in the name of the victims.

It later emerged that Noel may not have even been invited in the first place, and his ‘response’ to Liam was a decision to hand over all royalties for ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ to the victims’ families in secret – before the concert even took place.

There’s nothing quite like brotherly love.
