One of the enduring wonders of music is the magic of the three-minute pop song. Many try to write that elusive hit, but most fail, with just a few rising to the top to become worldwide smashes.

But musician Brett Domino has unmasked all of the tricks of the trade in this fantastic video. Now you, too, can write a hit - and it turns out that it actually helps if you can't play an instrument.
