We all know the drill: sleigh bells, snow in the video and plenty of 'Merry Christmasses', but it's surprising how few really great Christmas songs have stuck in the public consciousness over the years.

Watch his guide to writing a hit Christmas song below, where he attempts, with considerable success, to combine the three types of Christmas song into one giant, amazing, all-encompassing festive classic.
