Chase & Status Ultimate Playlist

Chase and Status have been flying the flag for the UK dance music scene since forming 10 years ago, working their way up to become household names, with their 2010 release No More Idols hitting number 2 on the UK album chart.

The duo return with their third album, Brand New Machine, which is released on October 7th - in the meantime, we caught up with Saul Milton - aka Chase - to find out five songs on his Ultimate Playlist.

Favourite Wedding song

"Bob Marley - Stir It Up - because it was my first dance with my wife at our wedding last year."

Favourite song that no-one else has heard of

"Rush - a demo that we never ended up finishing that I still listen to regularly. Something no-one has heard yet but will do in the future is Capone by Knytro; another signing to our label MTA. He features on our new album and for me is one of the greatest rappers I've heard and this tune exemplifies that. Watch this space…"

Favourite Song From Childhood

"Difficult to choose between Duran Duran Ordinary World & Steve Miller Band - The Joker Both completely different songs, the music and melodies in Ordinary World captivated me a a child and I always loved the sentiment of The Joker and I think I share some of the characteristics."

Favourite Song Currently In The Top 40

"Ben Pearce - What I Might Do. This is on our label MTA and this song has been bubbling for over a year now and it's a proud moment to see it organically storm up the charts the old fashioned way; by word of mouth and people finding out about it, rather than an onslaught of press and promo."

Favourite Ballad

"I don't know if this constitutes a ballad but Holocene by Bon Iver is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and this has a lot of great personal memories for me. He's someone I'd love to work with and this tune is beautiful from the start to the end."
