Music videos aren’t dying, they’re getting better.
While today’s stadium-fillers seem loathe to sing in front of a camera on account of the time they eat up, not to mention TV music channels showing less and less music, this incredible effort from director Guillaume Panariello spins the format on its head, shooting a three and a half minute video in just five seconds.
That’s right, five seconds. And it’s not a rushed job, either - spanning an 80m stretch of road and an army of extras armed with everything from lightsaber, machineguns, confetti and books, it’s as good if not better than any music video of recent memory.
Designed to promote electro soul single Unconditional Rebel by Siska (quite the tune as it happens), Panariello captured all the action with a Phantom 4K camera while gunning it in a car. CG was later added, but take nothing away from the astonishing results.
Just imagine what he could do with ten seconds.
