23 styles of rapping in one 4 minute video

1.jpg

Ever wondered what Americans think UK rappers sound like? Well now we know: not very cool.

In this video, which sees YouTube artist None Like Joshua squeeze 23 types of rap into one four minute video, the young chap has included a spot of Grime, complete with the verse “I’m a gangsta where guns are banned; “if you a wanka [sic], I’ll hit you with a pan.” Classic.

Not quite as endorsing of the musical movement as Kanye West. Still, at least the other 22 raps are slightly more convincing as he takes us on an aural history of the genre all the way from ‘90s gangsta rap and battle rap to nu-metal rap and Eminem, with a few more besides. Frankly we didn't know the genre was so varied.

And....that’s a rap.
