Gervais meets Carell

As Steve Carell faces his last season on The Office, NBC are bringing in the big guns to see him out. Following the news that Will Ferrell will be joining the cast for a brief stint, last night saw the original embarrassing boss Ricky Gervais pop up in a fantastic cameo.

A meeting of minds, egos and incorrect humour, the two share an awkward encounter that's definitely worth a watch and then perhaps a couple of rewatches.

Gervais plays David Brent for the first time in seven years and leads us to wonder what on earth he's doing in Scranton, Pennsylvania. After the recent fallout from the Golden Globes, let's hope US audiences were less offended by the guest appearance.

Although a certain Chinese joke might not be entirely helpful...
