Why do cats die hilariously and dogs die tragically in cinema?

Have you ever encountered a lifeless cat on the street, and instead of alerting the authorities, just stood and laughed at it? Do you Google 'Horrific Feline Murders' when you've had a really long day and find yourself in need of a pick-me-up? Of course you haven't. So why does Hollywood find cat deaths so funny?

YouTuber Jacob T. Swinney has compiled a video essay where he's found 12 poignant pooch passing-away scenes for just two moving moggy demises, and similarly 13 chucklesome cat killings for a mere 3 funny pooch deaths.

If you're a big-shot Hollywood producer that's chanced upon this: give our moggies the dignified send-off they deserve.
