Tom Holland To Direct Another Stephen King Adaptation

steking.jpg

Fans of Stephen King rejoice: plans are afoot to transfer another of his stories to the silver screen, with short story The Ten O'Clock People the latest project hoping to carry on King's tremendous run of success at the box office.

The story will be adapted to feature film length and brings director Tom Holland back into King territory, having previously directed The Langoliers and Thinner.

The Ten O'Clock People was originally published in 1993 and was part of King's Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection. The story deals with a character who, in the course of attempting to quite smoking, discovers a frightening new aspect of reality. At the time, King himself was trying to kick the habit, which must have aided him, since the story was conceived and realised in an astonishing three days.

The film's plot is reported to be a modernisation, but still faithful to, the original book, and will star Eddie Cibrian, Clayton Watson and Garrett Headlund, with Nathaniel Kramer and E.J. Meyers producing.

2013 could be a good year for Stephen King fans, with Ron Howard's The Dark Tower still in the pipeline, along with remakes of Carrie and The Stand, something which would be highly appropriate given the last two digits of the year...
