The Wolf Creek 2 trailer lands

Probably responsible for turning a considerable number of people off the idea of ever going to the Australian outback, 2005's horror hit Wolf Creek has stayed in our heads for all the wrong and the right reasons. Head on a stick, for one.

Given the genre it's no surprise that a sequel has been made. It's more of a surprise that it's taken so damn long.

But finally, we have our first look at the Wolf Creek 2 trailer and it offers more of the same. A lot more, from the looks of it.

Reassuringly, Greg Mclean, the writer/director of the original is behind this one which sees a new set of backpackers fall foul of the vicious Mick Taylor.

It's an Australian trailer, which means you'll have to ignore the release date, and continue to petition your local MP as the film doesn't yet have a UK release date.

Wolf Creek 2 should hit UK shores in 2014
