Given the multitude of big-budget blockbusters hitting our shores this summer, it's probably a little strange to be getting excited about another one released in October.

But the trailer for Thor: The Dark World has arrived and it looks set to follow its predecessor in terms of general awesomeness.

Yes, it might look a bit cheesy but that's what made the first one so much fun and we're intrigued by the Loki as Hannibal Lector-esque subplot.

Oh and we're already taking bets on what you think the post-credits scene will be.

Thor: The Dark World hits cinemas on October 30
