Not everything looks good in slow-motion.
Wrinkly old man stepping out of the shower? No dice. Maverick renegade walking away from explosions without flinching as rubble perilously flies past him? Yes please.
Hollywood knows exactly what shots work best when dramatically cutting them down to a lower frame rate, which is why we're now so accustomed to the trick that barely a blockbuster goes by without one or two slow-mo scenes to drool over.
2014 was no exception, and this brilliant super-cut from Nerdwriter1 reminds us of the finest slow-mo clips in film and TV over the entire year. A year when Guardians Of The Galaxy strutted, when The Amazing Spider-Man somersaulted (again), and when Kim Jong Un got his fiery comeuppance in Seth Rogen’s controversial film The Interview.
Hell, even House Of Cards' Frank Underwood twanging a rubber band looks like it deserves an award for VFX.
