Watch the terrifying first trailer for Jennifer Lawrence's 'Mother!'

Darren Aronofsky sure knows how to shit you up. Black Swan was a feverish nightmare and Requiem For A Dream, well, if you’re watching it and suddenly your house gets a power cut, you better know you’re going to scream like a small child. Or so I’ve heard, anyway.

What I’m saying is, he’s got the nous when it comes to the scary stuff, and it looks like he’s gone full-hog with his latest flick, Mother!. Not much is known about the storyline yet, but it seems it has something to do with a peculiar couple coming to stay at Jennifer’s house, and, erm, ruining everything, basically.

Here’s the extremely jarring first trailer:

Yeah, not one for a calm Sunday evening chill-out watch, is it? Not How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, is it?

The film stars Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris and Kristen Wiig and will be released in the UK on September 15th
