The first clip of Arnie's new zombie film is definitely not what you expected

maggie1.jpg

[Zombies pour through the smashed door, stumbling toward the fleeing band]

[Schwarzenegger takes out two advancing corpses with his sawn-off shotgun, spearing a third with an Austrian-powered punch]

Schwarzenegger: "Get to da chopper!"

It's a script that writes itself - or so you'd think. But as the first clip from Maggie illustrates, Arnie's new zombie film isn't exactly what you'd think it would be.

Starring as loving father Wade, Maggie sees Shwarzenegger's titular daughter (Abigail Breslin) infected with a deadly zombie infection. Rather than putting her out of her suffering, Wade sticks by his daughter's side, awaiting the inevitable conclusion of the slow-working disease.

Tender, heart-felt, it's going to tug on the heart strings even more than that bit in I am Legend when [*SPOILER ALERT*] Will Smith had to hug his dog to death.

Maggie arrives in cinemas on 17 July
