"Super Trailer" Proves All Trailers Are The Same

"Super Trailer" Proves All Trailers Are The Same
30 April 2015

Ever watched a trailer for a summer blockbuster and thought, 'I'm sure I've seen this film before...'?

Well, it's not just because everything's a reboot these days.

Red Letter Media have put together this 8-minute mash-up to illustrate how formulaic action movie promos have become.

The "super-trailer" cuts up bits of Mad Max, The Kingsmen, Godzilla, The Amazing Spider-Man, Ant-Man and many more, to illustrate its point.

It also highlights recurring themes in various trailers. Our favourites are the oblique, meaningless bits of dialogue (usually said with gravity by Patrick Stewart, so it sounds like it's really important), and the toss-away bon mots/goof-offs that appear before the release date.

Turns out your whole summer blockbuster trailer experience has been engineered by Hollywood. And we trusted them!

Oh wait, that's all fine. It's their job. Still, the video below is funny/interesting.
