Excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Of course you are.

Already booked off Friday 18 December? Good man. IMAX eh? Fancy that.

But we're sorry to say that you've jumped the gun.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens won't be coming to the UK on 18 December - it's arriving a day earlier, on 17 December.

The announcement was made in rather mute fashion, with a countdown clock stating that the release would occur on the new date of 17 December.

Rather than being met with cries of glee, many Star Wars fans have reacted with anger - some having already booked the 18th of in anticipation of catching the film early.

Want to know what makes Force fans even angrier? Telling the American contingent that the French fans will be seeing the new film a full two days before them, on 16 December...

We would respond with a list of all the films that the US receives before the rest of the world, but we literally can't be bothered. Because it's loads.

Instead, here's the full Force Awakens trailer. Go on. Watch it again.
