Russell Crowe for The Dark Tower?

(Quickly checks Wikipedia then pretends this information is stored away in the brain) There's eight episodes of Stephen King's Dark Tower series spanning from 1982 to 2012, that would suggest any movie adaptation would need to be a small cross section or an absolute epic. Probably both.

Warner Bros are about to receive a script from I, Robot, I Am Legend and Cinderella Man writer Akiva Goldsman. Ron Howard is rumoured to be directing.

But the latest and biggest news comes from a Deadline report that suggests that Javier Bardem is no longer set to play gun-slinging lead role Roland Deschain, with Russell Crowe set to don the stetson.

The Dark Tower is about the last living member of a knightly order of gunslingers, humanity’s last hope to save civilization as he hits the road to find the Dark Tower.

Is Crowe the right man for the job? Let us know below...
