Oldboy Remake Trailer Released

Oldboy Remake Trailer Released
10 July 2013

The first glimpse of Spike Lee's remake of the classic South Korean film Oldboy is here, and it looks suitably disturbing.

The original is considered something of a classic, so the new version is bound to divide some opinion; however, the trailer looks promising, briefly summarising the main premise whilst giving hints of the ultimate complexity of what happens.

Josh Brolin stars as Joe Doucett, an advertising executive held captive for 20 years, then set free - both events occurring for no apparent reason. Upon release, he then attempts to find answers. The bad news for fans is that Lee's adaptation is from the original manga story, rather than the original film, so there'll be no repeat of the infamous live-Octopus eating scene (one of our 20 Worst Movie Meals), which was created specifically for the 2003 movie. The world's cephalopods breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Oldboy is scheduled for release on October 25, 2013
